I've had a pair of Costa Blackfins with the glass lenses for about 5 years. The rubber all fell off in 2 years. I'd like to get another decent pair for fishing/driving.

Any recs other than Costa? Not completely against getting another pair but don't like how they fell apart. ~$200 budget.

Was a Ray Ban guy for years. Wayfarers and Aviators.

Switched to Persol and had one pair I like, two I hate. They slide down my nose way too easy. Even on sale they are pricey.

Went back to Wayfarers last week and I miss the flexible temple of the Persol.

Also I usually keep a couple pair of Knockarounds for spares, or when I know I may lose them.

Switched to Maui Jims last year after having Costa's for the last 15 years.

Blenders. Wear for a couple years, throw away, buy new ones.

Seems their mirrored lenses scratch after about a year. I stick to the black lenses.

For $50, I just get a new pair every couple years.

How much are Costa Rx?

Is there a trade-in program?

My eyes have gone to garbage. Can’t see mullet in the surf and my friends are “ like, toss the net there.” Still cannot see them.

Rocking some Maui Jim’s for driving and Costas for the water.

Looking into the new Ray Ban aviators that are a little more square

I've been really impressed with the pair of Bajio glasses I got last week. No idea on the durability of them, but they seem much clearer to look through than my Costa and Smith glasses.

I wear Goodr sunglasses. I'm terrible with sunglasses, so I just keep buying the cheap ones.

I'll either lose or break them within 3 months, so I don't bother with the expensive brands.

As long as they keep repairing or replacing them, I’m wearing my Costas

Still using Costas. I would not buy a new pair but I bought them when they had an unconditional lifetime warranty and even though they no longer honor that warranty, the lying bastards, I have found a work around through their Amazon store and their return policy. I would not do this if they honored their commitment that prompted me to pay over $300 for a pair of sunglasses years ago but we agreed in principal initially that if I bought them they'd warrant them as long as I owned them. I intended to keep up my end of the bargain, apparently they did not.

I fought it for years for the same reasons until a friend and I were offshore and he loaned me a pair of original glass lensed Costas that were about 2 years old and well used. They were still in better shape than any I had ever used regularly offshore after a couple months. I bought a pair that evening. They were warrantied for life and at that time Costa had an excellent reputation for honoring that warranty. That is no longer the case...they won't honor the original warranty and new ones aren't marketed with that warranty.

I stand by my ascertion that costa glass lenses will outlast any lens on the market offshore. Offshore is a horrible environment for lenses. The salt will scratch a diamond as often as it has to be cleared...it has NEVER scratched my costa glass lenses. The screws holding the ear piece to the frame will eventually corrode (it is stainless but still eventually fails) but the lenses are indestructible outside of laying a duck boat on top of them or driving over them in a truck (I know from first hand experience on both counts).
