Strike King Naked Rage, just a clear version of the rage blade which probably somewhere between a swimjig and a chatter bait I like it though. Tried flukes and some other swimbaits.

I usually buy mine at the gas station on the way to the launch for $8.49 because 4:45am me has no concept of how many bags are enough.

You may need more than 20 foot of string for that particular bait. If you need some, I'll send you the cutoff next time I respool.

Good deal, I'll just tie it on to the end of mine. My amb. 5000's line hole has opened up pretty wide from the frayed line running thru it over the years.

senko if it's not too windy. SPRO frog or chatterbait are close to the top of the list as well.
If I had to only choose one it would be a 3/8 oz jig in falcon craw tipped with a zoom super chunk (green pumpkin or black/red flake)

My son caught a 3.5lb bass on a chatterbait yesterday. I've never had any luck with them either.

slow roll it like a spinnerbait over deeper grass. See the chatterbait thread from last week for more ideas.

How much does he charge for lessons on how to fish that bait?

I can't even get him to teach me, and I've got quite a bit invested in him at this point.

jig n pig. at least 75% of the time. don't catch as many, but they're always good fish.
