Looks like one of many variants used to fish plastic worms.

That's just my guess though

It's a live minnow hook.

The small barb just behind the eye tells me it's a worm hook. Like I said before there are plenty of hook makers. All you need to do is get one big time tournament fisherman to say he catches big bass with "xyz" hook and the next thing you know that hook will be all the rave.

FYI: I've caught a few fish in my day but have never used a gumugatsu. I prefer Eagle Claw

Definitely not a worm hook. The point would not be pointing away from the eye.

It's similar to a draught hook. Might be considered a draught but it is not a worm hook.

The barb on the shank is to hold the bait

They're all I use for my inline spinners. More durable than the competition.

I have some hooks that look exactly like that. I can tell you with certainty they are not used to catch fish.

Looks like a hook that can be used for a Z Man PopShadz, or something of that nature.

Looks like a eagle claw or tru turn hook. Both of which suck. Go Grammy EWG ftw.
