Not a medicine, but stay in the middle and back of the boat. Stare at something on shore. Never go inside, never lay down.

I love fishing in 9-11" seas when I'm down in the winter.

Before Christmas the Atlantic was extremely rough and choppy. If you looked out towards the Gulf Stream, you could see sea horses. Perfect for me.

I have a bigger boat. 11" is
so you fish in 11 foot seas? What are you in? One of those crab boats?

54' Hatteras. 11 ft' is pushing it, and it depends on how the waves crest. No way I could anchor in 11 ft' seas however.

Not sure about preventing it, but the only cure is scratching your back against a live oak tree!.

I think it's 95% mental personally. Just don't think about getting sick and tell yourself you aren't going to. Battle over

I agree with this 100%. I still take Dramamine but I find it to be mental. As others have said...

- No alcohol the night before
- one Dramamine the night before
- one Dramamine when I wake up that morning
- keep your vision focused out to the horizon
- concentrate on steady deep breathing. If you ever feel like you are getting sick, that can make you nervous and affect your breathing. Start breathing fast and short due to being nervous can make you feel even more nauseated.
- if you start feeling sick, try to change your focus to something other than how you are feeling. Think about how good of a time your having out on that boat fishing.

There have been times where I have started feeling seasick on the boat and just by looking at horizon, making sure I'm breathing deep, and concentrating on something positive rather than the symptoms made it go away quick.
