I currently have a Ruger LCP for my truck but I would like something in my night stand or near night stand. (no kids)

Shotgun or another pistol? I know what shotgun I want based off of thread I started about that before with y'all's help.

A mean assed wife, far scarrier than a dog and IDGAF if you steal her.

Now imagine that, plus on a diet and her period. Please take her

Not being a dick, but why dont you used the truck gun inside? Or at least take it inside at night?

This dog I bought from Cgrand. She was supposed to be a trained champion retriever. But she won't even go in the water. Turns out her real talent lies in home defense. Since I got her I haven't had a single incident.

Old friend stayed in Fayette far too long due to it being his family home and had the expected issues, borrowed another friends 8ft snake and played with it outside a few times for everyone to see, never once had another issue

You must be new here.
There’s only one answer to that question.

Blue Heeler outside, about 3,450 pointy kids toys and balls littered around the floor from the door to the halls. If someone makes it that far, they're just gonna get me.

All my guns are in my safe. If the intruder will give me 5-6 minutes, a lamp, my readers and the code I would choose to shoot him w a shotgun

So, my answer to you is a shotgun in one hand and your truck gun in the other

Seriously people quit leaving stuff in your vehicles. All the thriving would decrease if there was nothing easy to steal

High capacity semi automatic handgun with weapon light or handheld light close by is the only answer.

Yup. G17 with taran +5 baseplates, streamlight TLR1, and night sights. I used to keep a suppressed 10.5" SBR, but I now have a 2 year old running around. It was hard to keep it secure and safe with still being easily accessible. A handgun in a lockbox in the drawer is safe and can be accessed rather quickly. Also, a handgun with a weaponlight allows full use of your support hand so you can open doors or guide a child while keeping your weapon hand free.
