A bit of advise on the marriage.
When you get in a disagreement always get the last work and that would be "yes dear"
Happy Wife = Happy Life

Best thing I did was get married - 34 years come March

If you go San Antonio area, Bohannon's is a legit place to eat a steak, close to a lot of good bars downtown too. Congrats!

Good Choice... generally MUCH safer and typically better results than hunting while sleeping.

Any suggestions?

Not get married during hunting season? That's what the Summer is for.

FYI, just remember the word half before you make it official but congrats anyway.

I want to go on a dove hunt for my bachelor party at a nice ranch somewhere in Texas. Preferably close to a town with some nightlife. Probably going to be 10-12 of us.

We go to Wichita Falls, TX every year. It's been exceptional dove hunting the last 2 years. We stay in Town, and usually hunt a field 20-30 minutes from town. The biggest expense is a place to stay, food and drinks. The hunts are only $20-$25/gun.

Do you hunt with a outfitter or a personal contact or what?

I hunt with both. My boss has a ranch over there, and a longhorn breeder I know has a damn good spot. The pay hunts are with an outfitter. They have access to over 100,000 acres in the area and stay on the birds.

Here is his website. Dry Creek Outfitters The guys name is Rustin Morgan.

It says $75 for the dove hunt. I guess we get a special rate because my boss' ranch is one of the properties they dove hunt when we aren't hunting it.

This was the first day last year. Got out of my truck at 4 pm, was back in my truck with a limit at 4:50.

Day 2

Our group of 3 that was rooming/riding together stopped shooting when we got to 100. Collard doves don't count against your limit.

When you are pulling up to the gps pin they gave you and birds are flying out of every tree and bush by the hundreds, you know it's going to be stupid good.

Or during the spawn, or when the trout are biting during the summer...
that's why we settled on March, I don't fish or hunt during that month

although, the wife wasn't too happy when we made an offshore amberjack run like 2 days before her due date last June

You can get some leeway on hunting season weddings. The only thing you will do is pizz off people that want to watch football instead of coming to a wedding unless of course you do it during the early season when our teams are generally playing scrubs and you have an open bar. However, I hope the OP plans children around hunting season. A June baby is damn near perfect. They are almost raising themselves by November and you get 2 weeks of fishing while the MIL runs the show.

He just put a ring on it and yall are already telling him how to deal with the kids

I found a girl who told me that I deserve time to do manly activities such as hunt and fish. She only wants to go maybe once or twice. Rest is for me and the buddies. So I think Ill try to keep her around

Never too soon to get this shite worked out. It should probably be discussed prior to the final ring put on that finger.
