Caught a couple of nice specks on the beach Saturday at Elmer's. Slow bite that morning. There were a ton of boats out there but they didn't stay long. I think Thursday and Friday were the days to go out in GI. Got my Jeep stuck so didn't get to fish much out of the Yak.
I did catch one hammer which was awesome to fight in the surf and has me ready to go back! 12" speck for reference.

It's a 2017 Suzuki 25. I'm getting 28mph with 2 people loaded down with gear. Once I add a jackplate and tweak a couple things I should get up over 30mph.

I paddled my kayak for about an hour trying to get to a spot I just knew was going to be great. But, the sea of lily pads finally won and I turned around and went back. I caught all of these about 50 yards from my truck in about an hour and a half of fishing.

Also, do fish get shorter when they die? I swear I held a couple of these up to the ruler on my rod when I caught them and they were over ten inches. I double checked at home (that's why there's a ruler in the photo) and they were all shorter than that. I'm going to call them 11 inches anyway. ;)

20 reds in 2 hours saturday morning. checked every crab trap we could find on the way in for triple tail but didn't see shite. There were about 1,000 shrimp boats pulling in the area so the water was chocolate milk.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic weigh in was legit, it's amazing the amount of money sitting in that harbour for the tournament

Strongbackweakmind- Did you catch them in the surf or in a boat off Elmer's?

73 trout, 2 redfish, a 23 lb. Jack and 1 seagull on a top water bait, stupid bird...couldn't reel it in fast enough.

Fishin out of Leeville around Casse Tete. Good keepers, had some throw backs too; caught on live shrimp and artificial. Good action Friday, slower Saturday morning.

Great trip.

Went out to Timbalier Saturday afternoon.
Water was high and the wind picking up as the day went on didn't help.
Ended up cathing only a handful of trout but thankful nonetheless
