Didn't take pics, but it did happen.
Left Monroe Thursday at around noon headed to Chef Pass. Picked up about 10 trout and a flounder just playing around close to the camp.
Friday, me and two other guys picked up 43 trout and 2 reds, and about half the trout were 15 inch plus, with 4 or 5 of them being over 20 inches! Found a set of birds working a falling tide/drain coming out of the marsh, and caught about 90% of the trout in 45 minutes under those birds. The two reds were caught in the marsh, and we worked as hard as three folks can work catching those two reds.
Saturday, woke up to an absolute hurricane. Wind blowing about 40 knots, sheets of rain, and two foot rollers IN CHEF PASS. No telling what lake Borgne looked like at that time. Anyway, it blew through around 8:30, so we left the dock around that time, went to same place (which is about 5 minutes from the camp btw), same birds working same falling tide coming out of the same drain/marsh. Me and just one other guy this time picked up 35 trout, and two nice reds. Didn't catch as many big trout, but about 25% of them were those non measuring/good/solid 15 - 17 inch fish. The two reds we caught were just random reds in there around those birds/trout. There's not a doubt in my mind that had the weather cooperated, and we could have got there at daylight 30, we'd have caught 50 trout. The birds were picking when we pulled up, and stayed in a state of pick for only about 30 minutes.
Also, there were NO OTHER BOATS in this little spot, and it's easy to find if anyone's going this week/wants to know. I'll check this thread later and see if there are any request on where could a man go catch some trout this week if they were launching out of Rigolet's Marina, Louie the shrimp guy, etc.
We found it Friday, and had it to ourselves both days. There were people close to us too, because on Friday before we found it, we fished Bayou Thomas. We got there first at daylight, and by the time our troutless selves left, there were literally 9 boats in there.
Oh, lastly, we caught everything on plastics!

Saw that as I continued reading. I was really surprised that they wold have come from there with the lack of boat traffic this weekend and the fish kill from last year, but you never know...
