I barely got out myself. It was brutally low. Oh I forgot that my cousin left the plug out his boat. Had to pump out 500 gals. Thank god for flotation

I've been over that marsh hunting more than once. Cold front+negative tide=0 water. “Pay attention, boy, I’m cuttin’ but you ain’t bleedin’!”

well I've got nowhere else to hunt and I surely wasn't gonna sit at home and not at least give it a try.

Afternoon, when tide switches back. Or can you do that?

ETA: so the entire lease goes dry? Has to be some ponds holding water on all that property.

Water was so low that I actually had to go back later to get the deeks. Saw some birds that we probably could have shot. I just don't have much confidence out there.

There's not a lot of birds in the area. With the feed everywhere they just jump around. Won't get good until the end of second split. Unless ringnecks is your thing

I just enjoy shooting and will shoot any legal birds if they get close enough.

It seems to be that way, but I sure do hear a decent amount of shooting going on.

Friday catch. Couple of fat ones. Biggest one was let go because we were double hooked when we only needed one to finish the limit. All on plastics.

Did you open up their stomachs when u cleaned them? Most of the reds I caught Friday looked like they were feeding big time. Check out their bellies.

One had 8 minnows, 10 small shrimp and a couple crabs in his belly.

They must have been feeding big time after that cold snap because those really do look like footballs

My neighbor cut one open and it smelled awful, so I refrained from openin any more.

I usually do look in the stomachs.

Yeah, it did stink. But I couldn't resist. My wife was not impressed when I brought her outside to see half decomposed minnows.

I went home to mom and dads for thanksgiving to find this type of crap going on. No hunting pressure on the place for 4 years outside of a 10pt my dad killed year before last. I had hoped they guy next to us wouldn't get to them crossing his hay field before I got home for thanksgiving.

He did, they dead, me pissed.
