Had some friends down in Matagorda, TX to do a guided trip Friday morning and take my boat out Saturday and Sunday.

Friday, guided trip was ok, conditions not optimal for drift fishing but we ended up getting a few reds, half dozen trout, and several bull croakers and white trout.

Saturday, we went to same area but conditions were worse for drifting. We headed to the surf about 8:30 and got trout limits by 12:30, most catching between 10:30-12. Trout killer bait outfished the matrix shad 3:1, much to the dismay of my coonass visitors. Finished with 20 trout 15-22", 1 20" red, and a handful of white trout. Put two of my friends on their personal best trout, so that felt good.

Sunday, we slept in, big storm offshore but it probably would have been the best surf day.

Pretty much the same as you. Took the bay boat out and got on some nice mangroves, a few reds, and a bonus cobia and king. Ride back in running from storms was a llllllittle sporty.

Stop using Photobucket, no one can see the pictures you share since they changed their terms of service. Have to use Imgur or something else

The wife and I went with some friends to shoot clays Saturday morning. Had a good time. I tied my PB and she set her PB. Only her 3rd time shooting clays and she is really getting the hang of it. Her Yildiz 20ga is a sweet little gun and I love my A300 more and more everytime I shoot it.

Saturday afternoon we went chasing some bluegill with crickets. The Mrs. kicked my butt. Ended up with 27 and I bet she caught 23 of those:

Probably would've caught a few more but this nasty front was moving in on us and we didn't wanna get caught out there in it:

My weekend resulted of no fish, no river ratting, and nothing else either. I got fricked and didn't even enjoy it (not actual). My worst weekend in a while.

Went to Hopedale Saturday and launched at Breton Sound. We caught 15 or so specks at the rocks on the MRGO and then my dad wanted to get the hell out of there with the lightening. There were 4 or 5 waterspouts in Bay Eloi at any given time. We got lucky hit a good bite on the way in and finished with 35 specks and two good reds plus another 100 assorted throwbacks. Done by 10.

Sushi you launched near catfish lake at public launch or galiano?
Would one be better than the other for redfishing?
Going Friday and don't feel like driving all the way to my camp in grand isle because I need to be home at a decent time

Thanks
