Hiking the wild azalea next week, assuming the creeks running through the area aren't super swelled. Can anyone give me a situation report?

Thanks

Only high water we have is the Red River. All the hills are fine. You should be ok.

Have you driven up I-49 toward Natchitoches? Pretty sure a fish could swim from just north of Lena almost to the Natchitoches hills.

Water is over the round bales and was white capping this morning

Think I saw Kevin Costner at the cypress exit

Those areas flush out quick. Will be interesting to see if any bridges got wiped out. They rebuilt several to withstand flooding, particularly that on by the old tram.

No I haven't drove up that way but I have saw pictures and it was crazy. A lot of people I know got stranded in grant parish.

Looks like most of the water is already headed south. Oberlin and Kinder are under voluntary evacuation due to the Calcasieu flooding over its banks.

I'd guess the Whiskey Chitto is pretty much the same.

There is no water issue on the Wild Azalea Trail.

The water issues on the WAT are flash flooding, during or immediately after the event. You've seen the bridges and areas around the creeks after a hurricane or huge rain event. It just gets out quickly.
