Buy 1000 of them now for $10 each.

Sell them in future for $100 each (what we all hope happens) and profit

Buy $10000
Sell $100000

Profit $90000

The thing that makes me nervous is they aren't consumables, so I'd be relying on the number of new people in the market since the last panic to get rid of mine.

Not that getting rid of 2 or 3 hundred would be hard. Just sell them a dollar on the low side and you'd probably make a little bit.

I can't figure out why anybody would "stockpile" any of this stuff.

If it gets banned, you won't use it because you won't want to not have it. If it doesn't get banned, the foil hat types frick up the market.

You appear to be too young to remember the AWB of 94.

I'm gonna start investing in pmags though for the next time we start seeing high capacity magazine ban talks come up. From what I saw last time a guy with a pallet of them could make a very nice profit.

This has to be a troll unless you are a complete hypocrite from our discussions last night

THT,
quote:

All high powered rifle bullets are armor piercing btw and subject to being banned with out sportsman designation.

What's your basis or source for this statement as it's clearly not true.

His basis is the fact that NIJ rated body armor can be defeated by most rifle ammunition. Hard plate can take M2AP but multiple hits will defeat it. He's alluding to the fact gun-control organizations want a purely performance-based interpretation of armor piercing instead of the current material/intent based definition. Since NIJ Type IIA body armor is only rated to stop .44 Magnum and is easily defeated by most centerfire rifle ammunition, such a standard would make most centerfire rifle ammo "armor piercing". As the law currently stands his statement doesn't carry much weight. Now keep in mind research is ongoing into lead substitutes for rifle ammo in the chance the EPA or some other entity regulates lead out of use for such purposes in the future. Many of the best choices involve tungsten alloys that, without an exemption, would be considered armor piercing under the current standard. The Army's "green ammunition" program actually did a very good amount of research on suitable substitutes though some here probably criticized it without understanding.

First off, I go to Disney World for a week and I get back and now people tell me that I should have been hoarding?!? I was wasting money on mickey mouse ears and time on getting a third autograph from Goofy. One of you bastards should have texted or emailed me.

Secondly, I have so many questions about this statement:

quote:

I was the road jack, and US Senator's staff member left me a message that Obama may be serious about this shite this time last month. (They do that shite when you write big checks)

What is a "road jack" and are you saying that you gave so much money to a senator that you got a call a month ago on this? Also, why not post it then?

Anybody want to trade some light up mouse ears for a pmag?

I would like to take this opportunity to tell all of the idiotic assholes that have cleaned out all of the bulk .223 both on local store shelves and online to chill the f out.

We are under a run right now.

Nothing online for bulk ammo in between 20 packs and 1000 packs.

Please stop. You are playing right into their hands.

Man, you assholes are ruining everything. I now can't buy a Ruger 10/22 because of no ammo, and now its an AR15. And I would really like a nice Ruger 10/22.

Gotcha. So when the OP referred to "armor" he was talking about "body armor." I guess I've seen so many tank shows on tv lately that the idea of "body armor" didn't cross my mind. NIJ is the National Institute of Justice. The M2AP load (30-06 round w/ a 165 gr bullet designed to pierce armor) has impressive penetration....>15" of timber.

Again, this site has saved me a ton of money on great deals on guns etc over the years, and I intended to return the favor but said something bannable about Chavis departure after that Notre Dame Debacle and was unable too and now it is too late except that prices on 1000 rounds are still under 30 cents a round on a lot of sites.

Lot of .22 LR up here. Local place has CCI mini-mags by the pallet. Decent prices too.

Yep. Everyone online had plenty of bulk in stock a couple of weeks ago. Now you have to dig. It's still out there, but you have to dig.
