I'm seriously considering going all out 20ga. on the ducks next year. I really like the 12's I have but as I was lugging that Mag Stalker on a wayyy too long walk through the woods the other day,it hit me. I want to try a 20ga. on some hunts. I own or have owned 1100 20's. Montefeltro 20(which I loved but couldn't hit shite with), and I got a Belgium A-5 20 that sure as heck ain't going in no duck hole.So what say the OB? Lead me down the path to unsore shoulders and a lighter blind bag from toting smaller shells

I've been using the M2 20g as a turkey gun for the past two or so years. I'd have no reservations about using the 20 for waterfowl.

Unless you are hunting in your face timber I almost think using a 20 is unethical. Using heavy shot, good choke and taking clean shots do cut down on that but always like to have more than needed than not enough.

FTR I think kids using smaller bores are fine just think if someone can handle a 12 then they should us it when it comes to ducks and geese, teal season being an exception.

Belgium sweet 16? I am not sure I would use steel with that, not good for the barrel.

tungsten if I can find it is the plan.

pretty sure this is it. he doesn't even know exactly what it was. he got it after one of his good friends died. grandpa said he slayed even more ducks.

it was originally a 2 5/8 ??? I believe and he had it re-chambered as 2 3/4

My cousin has one that he got from his father, damn fine , wish I could get my hands on one without unloading the back. I will just have to settle for a Rem Wingmaster 16.

I hunted in the timber this past weekend with my 20 ga Stoeger condor. Had a helluva hunt and noticed no difference between the 12 and 20 other than my shoulder feeling no pain.

Hunting in a field or open water would probably make me shoot a 12, but if I'm in the woods where the longest shot is 25 yards, it's 20 all the way

My brother only uses a 20ga and doesn't plan to use anything else. He shoots black cloud close range and kills ducks just as dead as anybody else does.

I'd duck hunt with a 20 if I had one.

Just about every spot we hunt is flooded timber. So not really worried about the shortened range. Although one of the guys I hunt with occasionally uses a 20 M2 and he kills just as much as the rest of us. I by no means am going to give up my 12ga.'s. I'll still use them on field hunts and with the geese. But the thought of a good 20 for the timber is dang nice.

They're much nicer to hunt with than a 12. I hate recoil.

Oh it ain't going anywhere. I looked for this gun for almost 2 years. No way in heck I'm giving it up. Just looking for a break on the places that we really have to hoof it to get too. Besides that Stalker is the best duck gun I've ever shot much less owned and thats including my other Auto 5's, my SBEII, or the new A5. This sucker just folds ducks up
