I think of him thIs time of year, when the boys are about to head down to Daytona.
He owned that track and it finally owned him.
He raced like if he didn't win, he couldn't afford groceries that week. (which was true at one point)
He raced like he'd take out one of his best friends to get a win.
(which was also true, sorry Terry)

The sport ain't quite been the same since that day. The spokesdrivers have taken over. It has sure enough gotten way safer, so that's a good thing.
