Their products worth a shite? The reviews of everything they make are not necessarily great, but not bad either.

Have to have some protection for duck season and saw they had a set called the Razor XV. Looks like one of those wireless ear bud sets. Anybody used these?

I was going to get a more expensive pair/brand, but by the time I get them fitted and everything I'll be pushing it for the season. These aren't a terrible cost for something that may solve my issues for a season or 2. shite maybe more...

Are you dead set on ear buds? My BIL bought me a set of Howard Leight Impact Sport Muffs last Christmas and they're pretty awesome for $45. They really amplify low ambient sounds like conversation and other low level noises and then instantly reduce gunshots. It's pretty incredible how well they work. Very comfortable and low profile as well.

No not dead set on buds. Just think the muffs would be a pain in the arse while duck hunting.

You hunt with yours papa?

I like my Howard Leight muffs. They work great, especially for the price. Only two drawbacks.

1. If worn with thicker framed glasses they get a little uncomfortable after a few hours.

2. Sometimes the earpiece can get in the way of the cheek weld but if you practice a little you can alleviate that.

Seems like having muffs in the winter would also add a little extra ear warmth too.

I got them at Christmas so I've only used them a few times, but plan on using them more this year. They're pretty low profile and surely don't get in the way.

Might have to try these for the price alone. I still think I'd like to spend a little bit of money on a real good set, but this would definitely get me through the season if I like em. 2 recs in 5 posts... might as well give them a shot

Especially if you do any other shooting as well. Funny story when I first got them I brought them to the office to show my buddies. I turned the volume up and could hear the women in the kitchen bitching about weightloss.

A word of caution - if they're turned all the way up, they don't muffle the sound of a shot much. Learned that the hard way.

Meaning turning it up to be able to hear better?

Yeah. You can hear a mouse fart from 100 yds with the amplification all the way up but they don't dampen the sound like lower settings. You can turn the up the volume all the way but just remember to turn it down a bit before you shoot.

No need for it right now. It's so dry you can hear them coming from a mile away..

Assuming you mean for deer hunting.... I want them more for protection than for enhancement. I may deer hunt once or twice a year. This is for duck hunting. My dumbass has some slight hearing loss due to hunting. I don't want to lose anymore than I already have.

If I can hear birds coming, great... if not then whatever. As long as I can have a conversation like normal I'm good
