Do you really think the gun store owner is going to say something and risk their license and livelihood?

Because they don't want to lose:

1. Their business
2. Their license
3. Their freedom
4. Their lives

Well it would seem posting this to Instagram isn’t going to help his cause.

I don't know. Showing the public via social media how the US government is violating its own laws seems like a good way to keep them from obfuscating

I absolutely agree. Hope this goes viral and this guy doesn’t face retaliation.

Of course it is and people wonder why the ATF gets so much hate from gun owners.

I made a couple of double purchases this year. Not showing them my firearms.

I'm not doing them any favors. They sold out and took a shitty job, frick em.

Incarcerated for asking the agent to stop breaking the law? I would have called my sheriff and let him take the ball from there. He should file a police report.

Who has responsibility for prosecuting this agent and seeing how widespread is this practice?

This issue would attract a lot of attention on the politics board.

I know I’ll get downvoted but I doubt this is illegal. Or maybe it’s a gray area that really doesn’t have any legal recourse. It’s not your book. It’s theirs. You are just doing the work for them. They can call on that book at any time to track stolen weapons or other problems they may have. I was called several times to give information on a weapon. Chances are this guy have some irregularities or problems in his log book. And trust me they will find something when they come check your books. Also when you give up your ffl they take possession of the book.

I thought it was illegal for the feds to maintain a gun registry.
