Hey guys I figured i'd share this with y'all. VATA is holding a carbine course in Slidell the weekend of Oct 4th and 5th.
I just got word that there are still openings for the class. I'm taking both days, and cant wait to put a bunch of rounds through my new AR.
If you haven't ever heard of VATA, i'd suggest checking out their website.
I know a bunch of you guys have AR's and enjoy shooting them, but have you ever been through training on how to properly operate the weapon?
This is your chance to get some top notch training from ex special forces operators.

I did Tactical Response Fighting Rifle in Tennessee in April. It was exceptionally fun.
If you were doing a handgun course I'd be all over it. I don't have near the number of rounds for my rifle right now though.
How many rounds do y'all shoot through two days? And what's the cost? I may get on one of their handgun courses if I can.

The level I handgun course is actually this weekend. I think the round count is somewhere around 600, but i'd have to look it up. Go check out the website. All the info is there, some pretty cool videos too.

If it was a pistol course I'd be in

600 rounds of 10mm would probably be pricey.
But I would love to do an OB VATA pistol course. Like if we got a crew of OB dudes together for a class in the future.

Since I supplied the steel last time, I'm sure everyone would enjoy my invitation to join.

I did beginner and level 1 a while back, and I think we shot in the neighborhood of 650rds between both classes. They sent out an email shortly after that saying that the beginner course students should be able to handle weapons properly.
They have their own fully equipped training complex for pistol, shotgun, carbine, and long distance rifle. They were working on it when I did my class, so I am not sure if it is all finished yet or not.
Email them and ask questions. They are all very helpful and quick to respond even though many of them go overseas to train people a few times a year.
The three pistol guys were SWAT, and all had many years of teaching. They each have their own style and are willing to help anyone
I had a thread on it a while back, so search if you want more pistol info

Keep in mind that new BS law about using so much Tannerite at once.
But I like where your head is at.

I don't think I could put that many rounds through my 357sig in a weekend. I'd have to tape up my fingers for sure if I tried. That would be $400 in ammo alone.

Not sure if it passed, but here was the early stages:

I'll need someone to confirm if it passed.

I've taken a few vata classes and they are good
Tannerite I believe was limited to 5lbs in your possesion.
