Selling my wife's honda to buy a truck. Since we are currently building a house, I'm not looking to take out a loan. What make/model will be the most reliable with higher mileage? I'm hoping to find something decent with less than 150K miles. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated! For your troubles...

An SUV would be ok. I've been looking at Tahoes as well. I'd like a truck since I've started hunting again, but my father in law has one I can borrow if I need it.

It also needs to be able to fit a car seat in the back.

I had a used car lot a couple years ago, sold mostly trucks. You should be able to find a pretty decent truck for $10K. Used truck prices are pretty high right now though, but with all the layoffs in the O&G industry, you might find a good deal.

Are you looking for a crew cab, 2 wheel drive?

In a perfect world, I'd like to have a 4X4, but won't be a deal breaker. And as long as the backseat is big enough for a carseat, an extended cab would be ok.

If he's looking for a lifted King Ranch F350, he should be set.

1,2. I've been looking hard for a used truck also. Somewhere in the 15000-20000 range. Toyotas are high as giraffe pussy, except the base models with no frills. Found one yesterday gonna check it out today. I have a 04 silverado thats needs to be out to pasture. In other words a farm truck or something similar. It has 117,000 miles on it with a few whiskey dents. Everything works cept the driver side window. And its leaking or eating a little oil.

First priority is to sell honda private party to maximize value on that asset.

Then you price shop your arse off in the general area of what's available, narrow down a few options and we then can help you better.

You can find toyotas for around 10k, they will be high mileage but it's a Toyota.

Toyota is your best option and the most reliable vehicles on the planet. Land cruisers are the best of the line. If you go with an old 80 series, pray gas prices remain low, unless you don't have to pay for fuel. I loved the three 80 series I've owned, but they won't win a race.
