UPDATE!!!! Through the power of the almighty TigerDroppings the boat has been recovered thanks to Ranger362xt's cousin (I owe him a case of beer). St Charles Parish SO has arrest to people and said they were on their way to Houma with the boat to probably never be seen again.

They apparently took it out for a joy ride while in Baton Rouge. It has a messed up ignition from where they must have started with a screw driver and where they launched must have been a steep drop because they messed up the back of the trailer and light. Also, for some odd reason I am missing two cup holders and the decking on the rear battery box / live well is detached.

STOLEN BOAT! : If you are on the road or water and see a blue Berkshire tri-toon with bright green registration numbers (LA-3738-GC) on a Hi-Ride trailer with a 115 Mercury give law enforcement a call. It was stolen from boat storage in Baton Rouge this week.

09/13/2022 The DA Investigator contacted me yesterday for an update. I was misinformed the first time he and I spoke and I learned that the first offender Stephen Horne had absconded and there was a bench warrant for his arrest.

I was again contacted this morning because trail was to begin with jury selection for the other boat thief Travis Bourque, who also decided not to appear and now has a bench warrant for his arrest.

Should I put the OT detectives on the hunt for these fugitives?

Read the original post about it being stolen yesterday at lunch. Had never seen lime green registration numbers on a boat before. Yesterday getting on 310 from I10 around 5:00, I was passing up a pontoon boat and thought "be some shite if it had lime green numbers". When it did, I slowed up and checked this post to confirm the numbers. Boat pulled into the race track gas station across from Hahnville High. Called BRPD and was told to call the local police. Passing up the dollar general a little further down, there were four St. Charles Sheriff Units in the parking lot. Pulled in, showed them the post, told them where the boat was, and they took off. Got a call from a St Charles detective last night confirming that it was the same boat and that the BRPD detective on the case had been contacted.

Hopefully Brusly Tiger gets it back soon.

And to answer the question of the day...

Yes, the motor was still on it.

An old guy from Slidell who I knew had his boat stolen. He found it himself. He told the cops and gave the officer $50 to administer some pre-trial justice. Justice was indeed served during the arrest.

Good luck finding your boat - I hate thieves.

Your boat will be found sans engine soon enough, that is all they wanted.

Sorry for the delay in replies. I posted this as I was leaving for Bella River Friday and don't have much coverage at the camp/river.

Cameras that didn't record! So, basically no cameras.

If it is found I'm sure it won't have the engine

It happens and it is easy to do...boat registration is a sham. It is a perfect storm of people buying a VERY expensive depreciating asset and realizing they made a mistake at the exact same time they realize their asset is worth about 50% of its purchase price, if that, within a year or so...

Motors are where the $$ is at and the mfgr’s wont do a damn thing to help prevent it.
Warren CoCo made you give serial # to get parts at one time and found plenty of hot motors sold cheap.

Also, as mentioned above, please edit the post that includes the detective’s phone number.

Did you drive that boat on the Diversion Canal a lot? I'm pretty sure I've seen that boat a couple times.
