I have a sbe 2 28" barrel and was wondering what choke and she'll combination y'all would recommend. I'm new to turkey hunting so I don't need the most expensive just a solid set up.

I get the cheapest 3.5" magnum turkey loads they have in a 10 shell box. Lasts me 3-4 years. Doesn't seem to matter. Federal I think. I don't pay any attention. I shoot a Primo's Jelly Head choke. Costs about $50.

I don't shoot past 40 yards. Maybe 42-43 if I misjudged the distance. But it melts them every time. I've also missed a couple at 12-15 steps when they've seen me and they're dodging and weaving.

I've been shooting that out of my SBE2 since 1997. No complaints.

I was actually leaning to a jelly head just because of price.

I also have a Jelly head that I pair with 3.5 6s

They don't stand a chance.

ETA: well, they don't if I can find the damn birds.

I use a jelly head also. However I use the shells that are a mix of 5,6, and 7 1/2s I can put 140 pellets in the head and neck at 40 yes. They don't stand a chance that way.

Whatever you go with just make sure you take a shot at 30 yards onto a target to see how it patterns.

I personally use the Hevi Shot Blend 3.5". It has a blend of 5,6,7 shot and packs a punch
