It's damn near highway robbery what those bastards charge to mow a yard. I got an estimate from a guy for my yard in the trailer hood, because like you, I also hate mowing, the sombitch wanted $35.

I wouldn't even get out of bed for $35 when I had my business. Too much in insurance, gas, wear and tear. I handpicked much larger lots that were a minimum of $50.

Didnt carry enough insurance for commercial. Well, for corporations. Did some smaller businesses from time to time to help them out. shite, cut my high school while they were in between companies for a few weeks.

Got that right. I spent a summer working for my dad who started a lawn care business after he retired from his day job. Considering that $35 wont even fill up a truck or the mowers, trimmers, eaters we wouldnt even touch anything short of $50.

I up and quit at the end of one summer because I had a few Mexican crews moving into my turf. They would cut my price my 1/2 or 1/3 and get 8 guys all cutting it at once. Some people loved the price and quickness and others hated it but it was too late and I lost the contract. I saw what the business was becoming and didnt want to invest another year into it and closed shop.
