I bought from Advanced Auto Parts but it was a CARQUEST BWD part.

He's talking about the pigtail connector that plugs into the resistor. Sometimes they burn up at the connections. You would need to cut the existing plug off and splice in a new connector. A resistor does exactly what its name implies. It forms resistance to electricity. Amperage to be exact. Anytime something gets in the way of flowing electricity it builds up resistance thus causing heat.This head causes burnt wires and connectors.
If the #4 isn't working i'd bet you got a bad blower motor resistor though

I'll bring it back and swap it out and try another this weekend.

Thanks for all the help and Napoleaon for the youtube video.

I don't have photobucket or anything to post pictures but the old resistor looked like shite. I was amazed it still worked at all.

i had an 03 chevy tahoe that did the exact same thing. Every now and again on my way to 5, somewhere 1-4 would work, but it was rare. Living in louisiana, it was always on high anyway.
