Greetings OB posters. A related question. I've got 120 large trees on 1.3 acres. I'm on a lake so wind is an issue. Limbs come down every time there is a storm. 20% are a great size for fire wood so I cut them with a chainsaw. 80% are too small and my neighbor doesn't want me to burn them because he hates the smell of burning wood.
I've thrown some in the water to rot but that inhibits swimming off the dock. I've thrown some on his vacant lot which he allows me to do but it's getting full.
My question... do any of you have chipper shredders? I'm thinking of making these smaller branches into mulch for the garden. But I've never owned one.
Wouldn't throwing them in the water will make them last longer?
I love to make fires and love the smell. I'd have to tell the neighbor too bad. He's lucky you don't have a fireplace in your home.
Sounds like you're trying to do right though so thought I'd suggest some type of "pen" in the water that you could throw them in. Would hold them so swimming wouldn't be a problem.
Even throwing them in a corner of a yard they decompose pretty quickly.
