Thinking about buying these as I start getting into more trail running.
Looking for thoughts and opinions as I'm an amateur trail runner.
For your time and troubles
Edit: Attempt to fix broken link. In the additional pic, it's those I'm looking out but with Vibram soles.

The link/image to what shoes you're looking at is broken.
I wore pretty much track spikes when I was running cross country in high school. They aren't comfortable and offer no support in the ankle or arch.

Tried to fix link.
Hoping to not spend too much. Definitely don't want spikes.

That looks more like a hiking shoe, have no knowledge or experience with Keen. If that's a brand you are comfortable with then go with it.
I'm an Asics and Brooks fan, that's where I'd go, but maybe that's not what you're looking for.

Asics Gel Kayanos is what I wear for running.
They just didn't hold up on some trail runs I've done lately.
Maybe hiking shoes are the wrong path. I appreciate any advice. Don't want to get out there and tear myself up. Having the right equipment is half the battle.

What trails are you running around the 225 area?

Looking at traveling up to Arkansas and maybe Missouri as it warms up. Would like to run different trail parks.
I know of different groups that run areas in north and central Louisiana.
If I'm not mistaken, Fontainebleau State Park has some trails too towards Covington.

look a little heavy for trail running, IMO

Not a hard core trail runner but I have a pair of Solomans that I like a lot plus a pair of Merrells I wear if I expect some puddle jumping. Recommend the brands.

I looked at a pair of Merrills

Thanks NYC. I'll take weight into consideration. Honestly didn't think about weight.

Montrail or Salomon produce good trail running shoes I've used in the past
Good flexibility and support without clunkiness

you are correct that hiking shoes are the wrong path. They make shoes designed for trail running and they are great. You can get them from hiking shoe manufacturers (Solomon, TNF, etc.) but I've always thought that if you are actually going to run in them you should get them from a running shoe company. Someone much more knowledgeable than me pointed me towards the Brooks Cascadia and I have been very happy with them.

Get an 'approach' shoe if you want to do any climbing with them.

I love trail running...stay nimble and light in your feet, and shorten your stride! There is something so nice about leaving the watch at home and running through the trees.
Running in hiking shoes will make it a miserable experience. All of the major running shoe companies make trail running shoes that are significantly lighter than the shoes you have posted and offer better running support.
Determine what type of trail you most likely be running and go from there. There are many different levels of lug aggressiveness, and rockplate protection out there.
