Wait on Corky!!
Good chance if you have that many mature bucks coming in he will keep his presence knownn. Hope you get him

Hunted Taylor county the year before moving up here to SC. Awesome hunting but my most memorable memory was the day in July when I decided not to get back into that club and went to take my lock on down from the edge of a swamp. Two tree steps from stand and I looked up to see a red wasp nest, packed, under the seat that I couldnt see from the ground. Made it down 23 ft of tree in record time and still got stung over 20 times, most in the face and head. LOL
Went back folllowing Sat with 2 cans of the farthest shooting wasp killer spray I could find and exacted my revenge on them bastards. :)

What are you using for feed that has those big boys visiting so much?

Started adding Rice Bran to corn, took them a week to get used to it. Now they love it. Cant get wet though so I'm buying some feeders for them tomorrow.Going to try Bushnell cellular cam out too, should save me some gas money running down there so often. Also make my vacation days more efficient. I'm ordering a ton of rice bran tomorrow as well. Have to pull out all the stops to keep him around.

Honestly I've never had a nontypical of any size on my cams before. My taxidermy does a lot of work for high fence deer so he has a better feel for them than me. He said best guess was mid to high 70s. I started shaking just thinking about it. I'm going to have to take Xanax with me in the stand, take it an hr b4 dark and an hr b4 daylight just to simmer me down.

I got some decent deer on camera so far for my area. The deer to me seem young and I would like to give them another year or two but somebody else will end up killing them so I am not letting any of those 3 bigger deer slide if i see them.

Just wish they would start showing up during the day

How'd everyone do last year? I had one chance at the big one last week of season but a 4pt got downwind and busted me when big one was 60 yards out. Lucked up and killed the main frame 12 I let walk the previous year. He ended up grossing 159 5/8. I'll try to post some pics later.

My 3 game cameras last week had 3 bears, 2 does, and about 50 pigs. Pigs don't seem to be overly afraid of the bears, guess cause some of them are as big or bigger.

Will probably start putting out my cameras later this month. First year on the wife's family land. No telling what might show up

I pretty much run mine year round. My big guy isn't as wide this year but looks to be adding a ton of mass. Started feeding straight protein this year. Expensive but seems to be paying off.

Figured I could bump this thread for this year. Anyone have any cams out yet? I've got two that are off to a great start. Both I've had around a while, the smaller bodied one has some incredible potential. He's 4.5, I'd be shocked if he wasn't well into the 150s this year. Other is 5.5 should be a main frame 8 that has potential to be in 140s.

I put mine out last week and planned on checking it today but Mother Nature has decided to piss buckets all night. Still going to camp but have a feeling I won’t be able to cross the creek to get to my stand. They are evacuating people from the camp grounds on the caddo river in glenwood because the river rose to over 14 feet in a few hours and still rising.

Nothing to brag about as far as size goes but this was my first buck while stalking with a crossbow. Lots of luck involved in this hunt. Always kinda cool to get one that has been showing up on the trail cam too.

Great job, stalking one is hard af. Very impressive getting within bow range of one like that.

I've realized over the past few years that I enjoy working the farm for the deer and watching them grow, both during summer and year by year almost as much as I do hunting them. I definitely spend a lot more time working on it than I do hunting it.

I run cams year round and over past couple years have got to where I'm feeding protein year round. I've been really fortunate to kill some really great deer recently and I've been able to watch all of them on camera for a while before killing them. I know the last 5 I've had on camera at least a year, passed a few of them the year before. It's very satisfying.
