The Texas Sharelunker program posts info about the last few fish that have been donated to the program.
I know it has been talked about here several times before, but support those bigger bass with an extra hand under the belly and not just holding them by the jaw.

Several of the most recent SAL bass have died shortly after being handed over to TPWD. That includes a 15 plus pound bass that was caught at the lake where I do most of my fishing. That fish was caught by the client of a highly respected guide who knows how to handle a fish. The bass was hurried to a marina and put in a tank where they keep live bait until TPWD arrived.
TPWD has been in charge of programs that have made TX fishing what it is today. However, the SAL program needs some tweaking.

It may need tweaking but it's hard to argue results. Texas has some of the best bass fishing in America for a good reason.

I like to share lunkers with my stomach or wall
