We are looking at a 8x32 office trailer to set up as a deer camp. From what I read they weigh about 7500lbs. We have a two hour back road drive to get it to the camp. Can we do this? Have access to a f150 5liter. Or a Chevy 5.3 both crew can 4x4. Has anyone ever done it? I've been told multiple times you can move it with a half ton but I question how far.

Trailer brakes?

It's not a matter of pulling it. It's stopping.

Nope, just a cheap office trailer. One time move.

If you take your time you should be fine. Just remember to start your stop way earlier.

Towing it shouldn't be an issue, stopping it will with no trailer brakes. I'd suggest taking your time and start slowing down long before you'll need to stop and hope no one cuts you off. I'd try to plan a route with the least amount of stop/go situations for the sake of safety and longevity of your brakes.

Probably wouldn't hurt to have someone a little ahead of you with their flashers on also.

Get a buddy to stay directly in front of you. With no trailer brakes, brake EARLY pulling 7500 pounds.

Tongue weight could be a real safety issue. Measure the tongue weight but remember that when the tongue is down near ground level it will be a little heavier than bumper height. And make sure what ever truck you use has a trailer towing package that includes a good transmission cooler and use the Tow/Haul mode and don't put it in Overdrive. Keep it in 4th or 5th. Preferably 4th which will help a little on braking.

If it's only 7500 pounds, go for it. Those things are like a fricking sail though. You wouldn't want to be in the same city with the shite I've towed overweight

You can also throw it in 2nd then 1st when braking.

i drug a Fema trailer loaded with lumber from Hammond to south TX with a 1500, just go easy and tow in haul mode/use manual if you have it. If you get on the interstate 50- 60 mph max

understand that sudden braking will be difficult so keep your distance and let everyone else pass

FEMA trailer =/= office trailer.

If it was across town, maybe. Find a baw with a 3/4 ton or dually.

You'll be fine. I doubt that weighs 7,500lbs.

If you have a weight distribution hitch and trailer brakes it could be doable. Without it, you will probably be more than double your payload. 2 hours sounds like over 100 miles. Just find someone with appropriate equipment to move it. Buy them some fuel, lunch, and throw them a hundred bucks and promise to take them hunting. Not worth getting someone hurt or tearing up someone's equipment.

Ran into that issue with camper. Local pull no biggie... 7700 lbs was a bitch. Get someone with a 3/4 ton to pull it for you that far

We have acquired a f250. I'm still a little nervous about tongue weight. We found a place we can haul it across town, so we will move it there for now and see how it does on the short trip before hauling to the camp.

I put around 4500lbs in the bed of my old F250 CC, so tongue weight shouldn't be an issue unless you're a tard and shouldn't be pulling a trailer in the first place

I saw a guy this morning backing up to a 580 Super K on a bumper pull trailer with an F-150. So you should be fine.
