I'm headed to Toledo Bend mid July. Staying in a cabin mid lake. Who is the best guide to put me on fish?

Joe Joslin. I think he fishes primarily southern part of lake, though. Covington Guide Service specializes around mid lake. Also, darrel Lyons (I don't remember if he still guides, but I had success with him).

My series championship is on Toledo bend and I don't want to spend a bunch of time pre fishing. Rather get a guide the day before to put me on fish

Troll.

My mom used Covington for a ladies sac trip. They caught fish but the boat was filthy as were the life jackets. She was forced to wear a life jacket rated up 70lbs.

Mid July? Fish top water early around grass either parallel to exposed edges or over submerged. Look for schoolies until about 10:30. Eat lunch take a nap, ease back out and throw top water again 7-dark.

Thinking of making a weekend up there with the yak but would be fun to spend a day on a big boat

Well you didn't say you needed a 24 lbs bag. You just said, put you on fish.

I'm sure any guide will be happy to show you his best honey hole to get you in the money the following weekend.
