Got a call from a family member yesterday that someone has put a climbing stand on my place. It might be a family member, but I own the land. Was not asked if this can be done.

I'm really thinking of going in there and just take the stand down and leave a love note to call me if they want the stand back. It just pisses me off due to the fact the stand was put very close to one of my box stands. This area is knowed by all that it produces a few nice bucks every year. In fact, I been hunting the same area for over 30 years and took 3-4 nice bucks every year. Now, if it is a family member, they know I'm sick and I don't get out there often.

So, what ya'll say about a family member trespassing? Cocksuckers can't wait till I die to get in this area.

Oh, I'm sure it is one of my cousins kids!

I would definitely take. I'm not sure if I would leave a note.
or I would leave it there and try to catch them in it. put up a game camera so you can find out who it is.

My son suppost to come in the next few days. I will send him in to take it down. I will leave a love letter to let them know I'm very pissed.

I'm with that. Leave a nice letter stating if they want the stand they can come by and ask for it back since they couldn't take the time to ask to put it up.

Put the cables way too tight and put a pad lock through the hole instead of the pins. If he wants to hunt that bad, make him hunt on a 45 degree platform.

If you seriously think it's family, take it. They'll ask you about it if they had good intentions.

Take the stand but put a camera on it also if you can hide the camera and not get it stolen. That way you will know who's stand it is regardless if it is friend, family or stranger. If you have problems later on you have a face to hunt down...

Definitely take it. Must establish boundaries, even with family.

I don't think I'd leave a note...just let the consequence speak for itself.

Whether or not word gets back to you will tell the tale (e.g. was someone being oblivious or sneaky)

That would be the least of my worries. How bout the fact theyre on your land!!! It would be gone the second I found out, and like somenone said, I would put a camera out somewhere to see who it was.

Take a 20 foot rope with you, climb the stand 15-20 feet up and leave it there, climb down the rope you brought. They'll get the idea.

How much land is it? I'd say take it for now. Don't be a dick and sell it, but do make him come get it and speak to you about it. If it is enough land, just tell him that he can hunt your land, just find a different location.
