SWFA 1-6

Having trouble deciding between this and an Aimpoint. Will be shot almost exclusively with subsonic ammo.

dont need a 1-6 for a blackout, especially if you're shooting a lot of subs. id go aimpoint micro and be done with it. got one with a LRP mount on my 8.5" and love it

Thanks Carson. I'm gonna pull the trigger on something today. It'll be a 100 yd gun at the longest.. You definitely feel like you get enough precision out of the micro? How challenging is learning the holdover from 50-100 yards?

I agree with Carson. An Aimpoint will serve you better. I would say Micro T2 if weight savings is an issue (along with size). If not, the compM4 is awesome as well.

100 yards is easy. There is a video out there of Travis Haley shooting a .300blk out to 700 yards using an Aimpoint Micro. Obviously most of us aren't at his skill level but it is possible.

Edit: Youtube
Got to 7:15 on this video.

oh yeah bro. i ring steel at 300 with my micro all day. i havent tried any further, but im sure i could. once you get a feel for different holdovers, its not bad at all. 100 is a chipshot with the micro, it's more precise than you would think

I would add that it is important to get the 2moa if you go with a T1 (T2 is only 2 moa) instead of 4 moa, it helps a bit with precision at longer distances.

Good deal! It'll be a much less bulky with the aim point too. As always, thanks for the info!

I vote for the swfa. I've had red dots and much prefer the magnification. Shooting further is only that much easier and with and almost perfect 1x on the bottom end it's still red dot like.

I use a Bushnell 1-6.5 though. Wish I would have made the switch way sooner.

I'd go with the new Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6. I have the Primary Arms 1-6 on my blackout and it's decent but I think the vortex is better.

I have to agree. I think the 1-6 is perfect for a .300BLK.

To me the only disadvantage of the 1-6 scope is size and weight. On 1 power with the illuminated reticle it's nearly the same as having a red dot but you get the added advantage of magnification.

eh, its hard to find a scope that is true 1x without the fish eye effect. Only ones I have seen that are near perfect are the older Swarovskis.

I'd throw an aimpoint PRO on there.
I've got a few of them, and never had one negative thing to say.

I have the Leupold VX Hog 1-4x on my 300. $300 and easy to use on 1x.

Only con is no illumination.
