Okay, don't think I'm crazy but here's the answers to your questions:
I hunted some as a kid with my dad. So I have some knowledge about hunting, but haven't held or shot a gun in over 20 years. I'm 5'3", overweight, not girly and you don't want pictures, really. I just look at the way things are going and realize that I may need to know how to hunt in order to eat before too long. And I may need a gun for protection if the country continues down the road it's been on. I have zero knowledge of guns. So I really take what you guys say seriously. So one other question, are guns from a gun show as good (safe, legal) as a gun from a store and would you recommend buying a gun from one place over another?

yes, just make sure they look to be in good shape and not completely used and abused

From that perspective, 20 gauge shotgun. Remington 870 would be the make and model I'd recommend. Can kill large game, small game, waterfowl, birds, people, zombies, and there isn't much better for personal defense.

Super versatile gun, easy to use, easy to aim, safe, reliable, very affordable, and tons of ammo choices.

Guns from a gun show are perfectly legal. Don't believe what you see on CSI and that dumb shite. You don't have to "register" guns and it is even perfectly legal to buy a gun from a guy on the street (as long as it is not stolen and you are not a felon).

kriskris, I wouldn't put out too much personal info. Some of the OT freaks may lurk here.

Not saying OT posters are all freaks either. I realize many of US post there too. Just that "element" you all know Im speaking of.
