I have a Marlin. Same one as DeoreDX. Will shoot sub MOA all day long as long as the wind isn't blowing too hard with 20gr FMJ CCI.

I have the Marlin, it's a pretty sweet riffle. Good price, worth adding to any collection.

I have a Marlin bolt action with the fat barrel. I don't know the model number.
Two things I don't like;

1. As some have mentioned about the savage, the clip (yea I said clip) on my Marlin is complete shite. It can either not latch completely, and just fall out of the rifle, or not latch properly and bullets won't feed. When the clip is in correctly, the rifle feeds and fires fine, and it's accurate like all the others.

2. This one isn't too big of a deal, and certainly no fault of the manufacturer. It's louder than I really expected. I know, this is nit picky, and I just deal with it, but I expected blast to be more like 22 lr.

Ah, now there's a man who knows a thing or two about squirrel hunting w/ a rifle. I agree w/ you entirely. .....I hope production of the M2 is not stopped entirely, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

Thanks for the compliment brother , greatly appreciated. I bought 3 cases (6000 rds) of Eley 17M2 several yrs ago from Champions Choice when the ammo went out of production. I have friends who are "in the know" with rimfire ammo and informed me that Eley will eventually begin production of 17M2 in the near future. Currently I believe CCI and/or Hornady are the only manufacturers who make the round yet on a very limited basis
