Your situation sounds alot like mine with my catahoula. He's 4 now and is a totally different dog than before, but it took 4 years for us to figure out what to do. We tried the kennel thing and he kept busting out of it to the point where it was irreparable. Got a cheap chain link kennel from Academy that lasted a day before he tore a hole in the fence. Piece by piece I replaced the chainlink with welded cattle gap fence and poured a concrete floor for two reasons, keep it dryer and keep him from digging out.

I hope I don't jinx this deal but we have used the muzzle twice this weekend while we were out and left her inside the house but not in her kennel. I checked in on her quite a few times and she just laid up on the couch cool as a cucumber. The muzzle might be our majic solution!
Thanks Wick for suggesting it, if this continues I owe you.

So we got through our first full work day without incident. She didn't move off the couch all day. The muzzle has special powers, I'd ask it for the powerball numbers but I don't want to push my luck and I kinda feel like I won already.
Thanks again Wick!

Told Ya, actually had to tell you ya a couples of times in the thread before you would believe me. I learned the hard way, but that cheap thing is a life saver...

I could tell you didn't want to give her away, glad it's working out for you.

Figured I'd update.
Muzzle works great. She's been free in the house with the muzzle (we even moved her kennel out of the house) when we are gone and she hasn't gotten into anything. Looks like I get to keep her. Thanks OB and especially Wick

I suggested to Wick that he should suggest the muzzle FWIW.
