Lucky I had my camera sitting next to my desk, he didn't stay in view very long...

Really nice photos. Swallow-tailed Kites are just elegant as hell and I love watching them. Unfortunately they haven't shown up at my house this year but I saw quite a few last year in March and April. I had my camera next to my desk last March and got these of a Swallow-tailed Kite that flew out of one of my pines with a baby bird in its talons. The consensus is probably a baby Mourning Dove.

I had my Tamron 150-600 on my D750, I was probably pushing 600 mm on most of those photos. They cover so much ground that even when you see them, you don't normally have enough time to get photos. I think i had less than 15 seconds when he was in range for me to shoot photos.

Great photos. I've seen a few this year in Pierre Part. One was carrying a snake. Wish I would have had a camera ready.

Both are Accipiters, but that is about it for relation.

I've been interested in that lens. I have the Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC and I love it. I shoot an 80D

For the price it isn't a bad lens, but I know a couple of other companies have come out with an affordable supper zoom lens and I have not compared the latest lenses on the market

Looking at that lens as well, for a t6i. Can't get myself to pull the trigger.

These showed up in our neighborhood in Prairieville last year, this year there are a good many of them. Have 4 or 5 in my trees usually. Beautiful birds

Sorry if there is a newer thread. I saw one glide over the interstate in Port Allen Saturday.
