Any of y’all fish the Leeville area? Where do y’all usually launch? Are the trout usually in there most of the fall/winter?

Heard a report yesterday of trout every cast under the lights at the Leeville public pier.

How'd you end up doing?

Going to be putting my Slayer 14.5 up for sale soon if anyone knows someone looking. Hidden oak color, Native fish bag, Native rudder system, LED running lights, anchor trolleys on both sides, etc etc.

Worse, I'm getting married.

Just kidding, I've got 2 kayaks right now, the Slayer and the Cuda 14, going to sell the Slayer right now and after the wedding sell the Cuda and get something pedal driven....or a Gheenoe. Or both. I kinda want both.

I can't seem to find a used Gheenoe setup like I want, a new one setup like I want is too much $$$, so I've been keeping an eye out for a project Gheenoe but nothing yet, I haven't ruled out buying a bare LT25 and doing all the finish rigging myself, wiring, fabrication, trailer setup, etc isn't that big of a deal.

That's why I want both, I enjoy doing the kayak tournaments. Basically want to have a Gheenoe for everyday fishing/scouting, then a kayak to keep fishing the tournaments with. I'm a cheap, bang for my buck kind of guy, highly doubt you'll ever see me in a ~$3000 kayak, that's almost Gheenoe money.

Gotcha. I bought my Outback used for a good price, would like to do the same on my next one. I'll probably end up with a PA 12. Don't think the Jackson FD has enough room.

The FD has a shite pile of room. It's wide and long. And you can stand on one side and it won't roll unless you 250+

Will it hold an AO 36 Cooler for Slot Redfish plus gear? The tankwell looked small to me.

Yes. The reason it looks smaller is there is a gear track that is behind the seat for stability

So the gear track isn't removable? Jackson has an obsession with hatches. Lol

Lefty the gear track can be removed, but it may cause the yak to flex some.

There needs to be more room behind the seat.

Forecast isn't looking good for this weekend. I might be able to squeeze in Choupique Saturday morning.
