Team 1911: Let's discuss 3-hole aluminum triggers

The holes are basically there for cosmetic reasons on a lightweight aluminum trigger.

Discuss?

They were first used on 1911 Match guns with very light trigger pulls.
A heavy steel or solid long trigger would tend to bounce back against the sear when the gun cycled and cause doubles.

My Sig doesn't have any holes. No problems here.

It allows me to see the set screw easier if I wish to adjust it for overtravel. Besides that, I'm pretty much indifferent.

My Springfield champion and Para Ordinance both have the holes.

The Delta Elite doesn't.

ETA: the springfield's trigger is horrid. I will have to replace it at some point.

Take it apart and do a little work on it bro. Did the same with mine, it's nice now, I couldn't hit shite with it before, but now I can.

My Citadel has two big holes instead of the three.
