I agree ! Preseason football is the start of the greatest time of the year! Duck hunt the mornings, deer in the evenings. All in the marshes of SE La! My favorite place in the world

Migrators (teal) are showing up this week west of Houston. Seeing a few groups here and there in the rice.

We built new blinds this past weekend close to Pt. A la Hache. We did not see any teal this weekend, but the last week of July we saw some. Only a matter of time! The habitat looks amazing.

Was just talking with a buddy this morning, noted how last year on August 15th there were plenty vids from the SW La rice guides showing swarms of birds. None of that so far, and a buddy that lives in Lake Arthur and runs the roads said he's not heard of a single report of teal seen yet, kinda bizarre coming off the full moon.

Talked to someone last Sunday who saw several groups around Gueydan, but hell, I’d rather them not be here this early

Sure hoping the hatch wasn’t a bust? Teal have gotta be Louisiana’s top harvest these days?

I’m a guide there, great outfit for teal, we have steadily killed over 2k birds last few seasons. Lots of good fields as well. Great lodging and meals.

Whodat any teal showing up yet?

Very wet in most of prairie Canada outside of Southern Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan when the bulk of the teal showed up to nest and the Dakotas are night and day different than last year when it was a major drought. So the hatch will not be a bust. Probably be a very good BW Teal migration this year.

Yeah I feel like the ones that were here around our lease may have moved out with that full moon.

I saw a group of about 8 BWT and some geese near Victoria about a month ago. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Geese could have been local.

Was at a couple different leases in Terrebonne and Lafourche parish this week and didn’t see any. Tons of wood ducks - habitat is awesome. Fingers crossed. No storms

By Labor Day, they’ll be scattered all over the state due to this nonstop rain. We may all get a couple shots off on the 10th.
