There is a reason people they live like they do today: running water, sewage, AC, etc. Keep that in mind.

Living like you say will not be 'fun' after a while I would think. You'll be spending your time working to live.

If you want to constantly be stinky and working and aren't worried about bacteria in your water, then go for it man! But I tell you what. I camp, hunt, fish, work on a farm. And I can tell you that a nice hot shower and some ice water is damn nice when it's done.

i wonder how people lived 130 years ago? oh no cant drink spring water.....

there is nothing wrong with homesteading. im looking to do it also.

you can have ac running water everything. how do u think people in ak have all that? even in villages that you have to fly into have all of that.

most of people have solar power for everything they need. you can also buy deodorant thats not hard to do. most homesteaders still buy necessitates just not frequently like we all do.

they have a few shows that show people homesteading and doing just fine.

People 130 years ago also didn't live as long

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. Just saying it will be a more "involved" life. Which im sure is obvious.

no need to get all defensive

Went to the first link and under "Alaska Cabins and Remote Living" the very first thread at the time was "thawing a septic system.
