Need some info on some swamp tours.

Went to Lafayette for Christmas with the soon to be MIL and 6yr old saw a fan boat full of people in Henderson swamp. He hasn't stopped asking questions about it and his bday is in Jan. We're thinking of taking him on one, but McGhee landing one looked too commercialized really.

Any of you baws have any suggestions? TIA

If you want a more personalized less crowded tour do Lake Martin. There are several there and it is fun. You can also just drive around the lake and see a ton of stuff. If mating season, be careful with the alligators, some are huge and get very aggressive. Small aluminium skiff tour is more inclusive, just google lake martin tours.

Call 337-319-0010 and see if Bob is running some of their tours. Great guy, knowledgeable and has been doing this for several years so he knows. Tell him if you get him Charlie said hello and sent you.

I did one in Lafitte and, for the 2 hours in the airboat, it was a blast.

Did one in Houma and it was a ton of fun. Much more so than I expected.

Be warned lots of Alligators will be in hibernation so you may not see any if its cold. Take an airboat tour, the ride itself is a kick in the pants.
