Little brother called me about an hour ago.

My grandpa lives on our property in a house about a 1/2 mile from ours. My brother saw something moving in the garage while driving by. My grandpa is in hospice care and has a nurse there 24/7. Brother pulls up to the house and there is a bobcat laying down inside the garage.

He walks up to it and has a rifle in hand but it does not move. Said he got within 5 feet of it. It was mangy and sat dead still. Went inside to ask the nurse what was going on and she had no clue. Went back outside and it was gone. Walked around and saw it walking next to the barn, shot and it hauled arse off. He found a little blood but thinks he hit it in the gut or arse.

Very strange. We hardly ever see them and have never had an encounter this close, much less in a garage. I'm guessing it had rabies or was maybe trying to steal dogfood.

Odd. I doubt it would have just sat there if it were healthy. Hopefully it is dead.

Hope the shot pit it out of its misery - that was a sick cat.

Very strange, must have been sick or injured.

Not normal for sure.
