Anyone do this? What are the laws surrounding it? Can't find much on w&f website, unless I'm not looking in the right spot. Last, any good places around Lafayette to do this?

I don't know of any game that you can legally hunt out of a moving vehicle. I would assume they would look at it the exact same as trying to shoot ducks out of a boat (that is moving) or deer out of a truck.

The Motor has to be in a non usable position. prop out of water or removed and use a paddle.

Henderson north of the interstate and Sherburne are probably your best chances there, and I'm not sure how well you would do.
Just about everything in what is known as "Henderson" north of I-10 is actually part of Indian Bayou. Maybe you could find some squirrels in the northern reaches??
As for Sherburne, you'd mainly be looking at the bayous, and all of them have high, steep banks covered with horsetail rush, so you'd better hope you knock the squirrel into the water.

We do this all the time. If they fall in the water they will sink!

Done it often out of a flat bottom 14 foot boat. We float Bayou Nezpique near Oakdale. No motor paddle only.
