They have been teasing this for a while and it is exactly what I had guessed.

I havent found the msrp yet, but it could be a good competitor to the AR556 and M&P sport.
Has melonited barrel with 1:8 twist, mid length gas system, and a few other features.

Nice! Love the foregrip over the standard carbine style or quad rail.

The only thing worse than keymod is keymod in polymer. There's a reason why Magpul came up with MLOK.

forgive my ignorance with this, but does the polymer not hold up well in this application?

I was looking at some of the MLOK accessories at Cabelas recently, and I passed it off as another "system" to buy all new attachments for. I was looking to upgrade my older, basically stock bushmaster with a new handguard among other things. Is the MLOK the way to go?

Sorry to change direction in the thread. I'm a huge Springfield fan. Looking forward to checking their AR platform out once it hits some local stores!

Does it come stock with the BCM furniture? And I assume that is a BCM trigger group as well.

Keymod has a bevel in the keyway as part of the system. This work fine in rigid materials such as steel or aluminum. This bevel is more easily damaged in polymer.

Keymod v MLOK is kind of like the old DVD v Laser Disc or Bluray v HD DVD battles. Both are in use right now and have their supporters, but it's looking like MLOK will eventually edge out Keymod. MLOK is simpler, non-directional, works well in aluminum/steel/polymer and is more aesthetically pleasing. If I were buying a slimline rail today it would be MLOK.

Agree 100%. The only keymod ill end up with is the sig mcx but thats only becasue keymod is the only option. Unless there is some aftermarket support one day.

I'm looking at a complete BCM 11.5" upper and I hate that it comes with their KMR rail. Probably going to just build myself, since it is pointless to buy the complete upper and toss the rail to buy a Geissele M-LOK.

So much hate for Keymod in this thread. I have both keymod and Mlok, and I can't see where one is better than the other.

Turns out it is only $899. They updated it after last night. Street price should be around $750 I think.

Luckygunner.com has a good break down of the two systems to better understand the differences for those needing some basic info.
