Ask you to turn over your weapons. What do you do? For me, I see a Michael Bay movie, but I know that won't happen.

KAtrina

Driving on a road pull up to check point. Law asks where are you going and who are you. They ask you to step out and see your firearm. They ask for it. Several guys. We all saw them after Katrina. Long guns in hand. What do you do.

I agree with Feliciana...hand them what I have, go home, grab everything, and head to my uncle's place in Alabama.

Fight the Feds to not let it come to that. Because if it gets there we have already lost buddy.

I think I ask what their intentions are.

They asked if I had anything, I told them yes, and they said "good, where you going?". I never had a single problem with any police or military personnel

This was the case for the most part. Even Heard stories of people saying they had no firearms and the police telling them to get armed.

But then there are the bad stories of the law taking the firearms.

I heard the stories and met people who swear it happened BUT every time I drill them for details they can't provide them. Like many things during the storm, I am not sure how much of the gun confiscation thing is fact or fiction. I know for a fact that there were a bunch of guns given to the Feds by a neighbor after a house was destroyed and guns were literally laying in the yard and street. But I don't think that counts as confiscation.

I was there for a while and worked many different areas and task. We escorted OPP prisoners out, had roadblocks in LaPlace, secured perimiter around Harrahs, made multiple trips in an APC driving through flood water conducting search and rescue, relieved St. Bernard s/o at a staging facility on the river evacuating citizens.

We never took a gun from anyone that wasn't part of an arrest

If no firearms were confiscated why did the City of New Orleans agree to return confiscated firearms as part of a settlement with the NRA and Second Amendment Foundation?

I'm not saying every cop that was in NOLA following Katrina was confiscating firearms, but I don't see how you can just out right deny that it happened.

Same deal, they asked I said yes, showed them my DL with address on it and said I'm going there.

The biggest difference between me and the army guys that I met was that I did not have an empty magazine in my rifle.

I give them that gun and leave, alive. Then I go home and put Plan A into action. Flash forward a couple years, and I'm the local warlord for my region, with an army, an arsenal and a harem.
