a regular river water douche is the best thing for the lakes health
yes it might displace some trout but the lake is not a bay, it's an estuarine entrapment. it needs a regular flush

and, all those dead cypress in the marsh along I-10? That's due to salt water

look at fecal coliform numbers from Lake P at normal times and MS river anytime.... and holler back

Refreshing to see folks beat back the fear mongers who think the MS River is a polluted death machine that will kill everything it's waters touch. Keep it up sushi and others you know the facts.

the only thing Im upset about is I am losing 5 catfish traps right now.. cuz I can't get to them - homeland security has closed off my catfish hole(w good reason)....

Yes 100's are in EPAs 303/305 impariment list for Louisiana, but Ms river is not one of them.

i know folks that eat a lot of ducks from those NO fish consumption areas... always wondered if that was safe.

so much rain lately that the area there is already very fresh, i doubt much of the muddy river water will push up that far back, it should easily flow through lake p
