Looking to go my first time this coming Friday. Was told to try big and little pigeon. Anyone have any other suggestions, what baits to use, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I haven't been to pigeon lately but I'm probably going hit Henderson on Friday. I've heard it really turns on when the water level hits 13.5 feet. I've been watching the level dive on the chart. It's at about 13.6 right now so should be prime on Friday. Only suggestion I have for the spillway. Aside from that, I heard bayou black is going to be on fire this weekend. Good luck.

Favorite top water in the morning. When that stops throw a spinner or crank bait to see if they are chasing. If that doesn't work time to slow down and throw some plastic. Also have a frog tied on for any runouts with some grass.

ETA: There are no fish in Pigeon, go somewhere else

Frog and whopper plopper in the morning and afternoon, spinner bait, crank bait and have something to punch grass and lily pads. All you would need. I would fish Lake verret though.

Tried to fish the 21 last weekend. Black water everywhere. More fish caught in the shell cuts.

BR Group had tournament in spillway on sunday. Most of the fish were caught around mid-day. Water is falling, so should be good. Find some clean water, but not black and you should catch fish. Will be fishing Lake Palourde and Verret area next two days while at the in-laws.

Jam'N on Lake Verret
Due to weather conditions today we as a team has made a decision that the Lake bash will be canceled for tomorrow. Damage was done to a few boats n camps. Sorry for the inconvenience . But this was a scary situation and we don't want to put lives in danger.
