dart tags are usually applied to the left side of the fish
here is a short article and video on applying dart tags
FishTagger
just remember, the most important part (other than minimizing stress, trauma, or damage to the fish) is ensuring that the barb of the dart tag "locks in" behind a pterygiophore

Yes, but I'm one and done with those. Love catching the mediums fishing marsh like bass fishing.

Reds: more fun to catch, better filets, Grilled they are delicious

Specs: best fried fish, can do anything with them, quantity over quality. With specs comes other fish.

I prefer redfish over specs but trout almandine holds a special place in my heart.
