I live in SW Mississippi. The storm last night was as bad as Ive seen in a long time.About 430 this morning we awoke to the car alarm going off due to thunder close by.I got that shut off and about 10 minutes later lightning either hit my house or dang close. We heard a pop then the sound of frying bacon and the burning electrical smell. Two of my AC units are fried,5 tvs and direct tv boxes,my wifes work computer, our phones and a couple receptacles got burned out. When the electrician was in the attic looking for the source of the burning he found a wire blown in half. The scary part is that it was right next to a gas line and it scorched the gas line protective coating.Luckily nobody was hurt and all the "stuff" is fixable.Just thankful that my family is ok.

I know "CSB,TL/DR"

That's called being in good graces with God from good clean living. Either that or you are just lucky.

Good side of this, you might get to meet Wick pretty soon.

I appreciate it. I'm currently weighing my options for next year. Pop just bought a new camp. Might build something next to him for my crew to stay in. How far are you from the hospital in Meadville?

Glad you'll made out OK.

Very OT-ish.

Wrong board for that kind of cynicism.

The place didn't burn down at 4:30am with his family inside. That's how he's lucky.

He lost a bunch of stuff that is all for sale at Best Buy. That sucks, but it could have been a whole helluva worse than it was.

My gas service man just found a hole in the service line from the tank to the house.I dont consider myself lucky.I consider myself blessed in a really big way.
The electronics that got fried are easily replaceable with money. If that line would have caught fire I would have likely lost my home and my family.Screw a tv.
Brbowhunter..I hope you dont go through life thinking that way.Somebody wasnt ready for me and my family to leave this earth yet obviously. She survived a brain aneurysm last year at the ripe old age of 36.So I guess I am very thankful and greatful to the Good Lord.

Is Wick an insurance adjuster?

Hope yalls place made it ok.My big pond is at the overflow so we mustve had quite a rain.
I am kinda surprised that the lightning hit us the way it did.I live in the middle of a 90 acre pine plantation.I figured it would have struck some of those but instead it found me.

Yeah he's an adjuster.

I'm coming up that way in the morning. If you need something from town let me know and I'll drop it off on the side of 98 somewhere for you. If give you all 5 TVs from my house, but the 4 females that live with me may object.

Not sure about you, but possessions don't mean shite to me. They can easily be replaced.

How much rain do you think y'all have had pdubya? I'm headed up there in the morning and wondering if some of the roads in the Homochitto I was planning to use may be in bad shape.
