It's probably possible, but it would be hell if there's any current and you would have to cast a mile to drag it through the school. Other than that, those frickers will hit anything. I'd say if you're looking for a challenge just butterfly jig on a light rod, I've always gotten the biggest ones on huge jigs.

Plenty of trolling baits fit that description. Usual tactics for wahoo is to send a few down deep and a few riding the surface while trolling. You could in theory do this for snapper but you'd need to be very close to the platform, and make tight circles. The first will result in a cuda more often than not, and the other crossed lines.
