Was on an evening hunt last week and saw this guy a few feet from the stand. No, I didn't get a chance to kill him. There weren't any good clubbing sticks lying around and I wasn't about to ruin the hunt by shooting him with the 7mag. I was about 12ft. up in a quad pod and it stilled rustled my jimmies.
Got it now. Sorry, gents.

Ive seen more in the past month than all summer. After every morning hunt I see one or two on the dirt road in the sun

I have seen cotton mouths in early January. Out woodcock hunting and it had been warm for a couple of days and then a cold front came through. Frost on the ground and me must have been caught away from his den when the temp dropped. He was moving VERY slowly...

Yeah, this guy was moving very slow as well. That front that came through last week dropped the temp into the high 40's where I was hunting and the winds were howling. Needless to say I was shocked when he came crawling out of a brush pile.

That's why I put snakes in the fridge for a couple hours before my kids play with them. If I'm gonna be catching a snake inside, I'd like him to be slower than normal.

I knew it was cold, couldn't remember if it was frost or frozen. Someone has a better memory than me...

Heaven forbid a snake do its snake things in its natural habitat. You people...I swear.
