I'm looking to switch over to a single-pin sight on my bow without breaking the bank. I don't like the distortion I get with my fixed-pin sight. I hunt from ground blinds, so I'm not really concerned with having to make any sudden movements to adjust the pin for various distances.

I've read up on them a little bit, and it seems like a lot of guys are setting them up at 25 yards and leaving them there. Of course, these guys also have a maximum range they're comfortable with, and it's usually no more than 30-40 yards. Basically, they aim a little low at shots under 25 (around that 20-yard mark), and a little high at shots over 25 (around 30 or so).

Anyone have any experience with them? I'm looking at the HHA sights right now, but the biggest complaint I've seen is the brightness of the pin (too bright?).

I switched to a Tru Glow Ranger Rover single pin and love it. Cost was around 90.00 at BPS

Used to have problem shooting the indoor video systems where they used special lighting to light your fibers. My sight always had that blinding effect like someone was shining small red and green flashlights in my eyes. You might try a smaller fiber. I think I've seen a sight that had a photogrey cover over the bundle of fibers that would darken to block out bright sunlight like some eyeglasses do.

I was thinking about going with the .10 pins when I do get one.

TexasTiger and cchoque93, do either of you have 3rd Axis options on those sights? I know you can buy the kit for HHA sights, but I'm just wondering if it's really worth the extra money and the headache trying to get it right. It's doubtful I'll be doing much hunting from a tree stand, and for the most part, my shots will all be on somewhat level ground (i.e., no drastically steep shots like out west).

I do not have that on mine...I don't think it is a must have...I hunt out of trees and and on the ground...but I don't hunt 25 ft up in a tree either. I have had zero issues hitting yards from elevated or ground level positions.
